Mr. Capalot, or Polo Capalot as he is commonly referred to within Chicago Illinois started to gain popularity after releasing songs on YouTube. Beginning, he released songs like The Come Up and NEVER CARED. In the following years, he also made his SoundCloud debut by releasing the Mixtape "OFFICIAL POLO.G SUNDCLOUD". Gang With Me was his first single to chart, and was followed by the album Finer Things. The song was written while in prison. It was his breakthrough single and amassed thousands of viewers on YouTube bringing him into the spotlight. Then, major labels began to show their interest. Pop Out feat. Lil Tjay was signed by the rapper when he signed a deal to distribute his music through Columbia Records. The song earned thousands of viewers on YouTube and reached the top spot of 22 on the Billboard Hot 100 marking the first chart-topping song by the rapper. As time passed, Polo G became a YouTube phenomenon and earned some recognition on other platforms such as Instagram as well as Twitter.
